We are all very
proud of the accomplishments of World Changers members Jerry Rutherford
and Ken Keller, they are proof that one average man can accomplish
amazing things.
They have approached the Collier County School
Board about placing our National Motto in all the schools in August
2001 (one month prior to 9/11). It was rejected. We
approached the School Board again in 2005. This time it was
approved. We have placed 43 plaques total.
Also, at the initiative of these men, it is now possible to order a
Florida license plate for your car that says on it "In God We Trust" .
They have also received approval and placed the
"New England Primer," the first public school textbook of 1690, in all
school libraries. We also placed the book on Ethics from 1890 in
all school libraries.
Jerry Rutherford was appointed to the State of
Florida Textbbook Review Committee for approval of the new textboooks
for 7th to 9th grade Social Studies. The books they approved
are the best we have seen in more that 30 years. For this,
we thank Jerry, but also the Gablers in Texas, who have been reviewing
textbooks for more than 40 years and have forced publishers to make
much needed changes.
The Gabler's have both passed away but their organizations is still going strong. To learn more about their work check out their website textbookreviews.org

We received approval in 2006 to distribute Bibles in all
Collier County senior high schools. The first year, 2000 students took
a Bible. The second year, about 1000 Bibles were taken. However
in 2009, the new Collier County School Superintendent refused to allow
the Bibles to be taken into the schools. Liberty Counsel, a
Constitutional attorney group, is working on litigation against the
School Administration for the refusal. We will give you the updates on
this as they become available.
There is currently a World Changers
sub-committee researching information on 'Intelligent
Design'. An organization has been formed to deal with this
subject, called Creation Data Institute. CDI in the summer of 2009
presented a well attended 12 week program at the New Hope church on the
subject. CDI is also working on several other exciting
projects, and can be visited at: www.creationdata.com or by contacting
Reverend Tom Harris at tomharris@harrisflp.com. Look forward to
further announcements from Creation Data Institute!
There
are many other projects that are in process or on the drawing board,
but we need people who want to see a change (for the better) in our
Country. Please come to our meetings and participate in our
initiatives, or bring with you initiative proposals of your own. See our home page for meeting time
and location.
